I’m Reanna Bono, a proud Wiradjuri and Wemba Wemba woman, and the founder of Yakuwa Designs
I grew up in Northern Victoria, in Echuca, which means 'meeting of waters'
in the Yorta Yorta language, as this is where the three rivers, the Murray
River, the Campaspe River and the Goulburn River meet.
Over the past 20 years since completing my degree in graphic design, I have been working in Naarm (Melbourne), shaping my career around Aboriginal-specific design. Throughout my career, I have completed design work
for various Aboriginal community organisations, government
departments and the private sector.

My work has given me the opportunity to work across communities and collaborate with artists, always being respectful
of where and whom I am working with to create culturally appropriate
design solutions.
Along my journey as a designer, I have been given the opportunity to create my own digital artwork to base my graphic design work around. This has allowed me to connect to my culture while telling a story in a modern and digital contextof the world we now live in.
With most of the pieces I create, I often draw on my connection to the rivers, being one of the main inspirations for my work,as it is where I feel most connected to Country and my ancestors.

"Reanna has created a suite of digital assets for VALS campaigns, projects, as well as creating new branding for VALS' office and website. Reanna is able to turn a creative brief into a piece of art and associated assets that is steeped in culture, and reflects VALS values. Reanna has the ability to convey a strong, consistent look and feel in her artwork and branding, which builds cohesion and brand recognition - this is such an asset.
She is easy to work with, produces work in a timely and responsive manner and the quality of her work is consistently impressive."
